HAVING WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH MY HEAD HANGING OFF, I WENT TO A WINE TASTING LAST NIGHT, AND TASTED ABOUT A HUNDRED DIFFERENT WINES ..... I DIDNT KNOW YOU WAS SUPPOSED TO SPIT THEM OUT DID I ?
Meerlust Estate is situated 40 km from Cape Town, South Africa, on the banks of the Eerste River in the district of Stellenbosch.
MERLOT 2001
This deep opaque plum colour wine has a fruity bouquet with hints of cassis and plum. It is full on the palate with fine tannins and an excellent balance. Meerlust Merlot will age very well for up to 12 years. Enjoyable with all fine food.
AND IT TASTES TOPS AS WELL
RUBICON 2000
With its deep purple ink colour, Meerlust Rubicon 2000 has a bouquet reminiscent of spicy tobacco leaf and cigar boxes. Firm tannins, youthful palate. A well-balanced wine with good ageing potential. Enjoyable with all fine food.
